Conasta

Today I had horse riding lessons. This was only after two episodes of the stupid fat horse Ben (who is a girl) turning around on me as I try to lead out. Turro keeps telling me I’m embarrassing them, and I guess that’s what stings the most. So today I spent a good hour or two in a pen with this horse, trotting and walking it in circles and figure 8’s, trying to assert my authority over it. It went fine and well, and was good to finally have some formal training, but then on the next ride, she did it again. Turro was not pleased. Out of grace, again.

We finally got her lined up and going up the hill, and Andy followed behind the ride for a while. It was okay by then, because Ben the horse couldn’t go anywhere, really, but where we were going. There were a couple other issues.

I was just relieved when I came back that I wasn’t invited on the Wrangler Ride for the night. Ben and Turro took off at a gallop to go explore around. I know I’m not ready– and while I’m really excited to do that soon, I need more training. I don’t want the ride to be all about correcting what I’m doing. So, but there will be good fun rides for just us, too. (Andy didn’t go on this ride because he was too sore from the previous Wrangler ride, which I did not go one either.)

I am tired and sad, so I don’t have much else to write. The room I’m supposed to stay in is damp and beginning to mildew. My computer stopped working because of it. I think I’m going to try to move. I don’t mind sleeping in the boys’ bunkhouse if my stuff can be dry.
