ATAO news!
Padee has been a longtime friend, and honorary family member to ATAO kennel. Padee has been with ATAO Kennel on and off since 2018 helping out with all kinds of aspects of the kennel. Padee has a deep love for sled dogs, and has an incredible capacity to build strong and trusting relationships with any dog she meets.
The first time Padee assisted with caring for the ATAO dogs while Shawn and Will were away, there were some nerves about entrusting a new person with our family. Padee came by the house again shortly after she’d watched the dogs, and all the dogs greeted her with excitement and comfortability. It was at that moment, we knew Padee was good people.
Padee is a very interesting person. She’s a big sports fan, and spends much of her time engaging in community support services. Padee has lived like a bit of a vagabond for years finding odd jobs and traveling around in her Subaru.
In the last couple years Padee has had some personal health challenges, and left Alaska a few times to attempt to get better medical care and support. In all the changes, her heart stayed with Alaska. This Spring Shawn and Will decided to extend an invitation to Padee to bring her back to Alaska and stay with ATAO Kennel as the family member that she is!
As of June, Padee has officially moved back to Alaska, and is living at home with Shawn and Will! Sometimes family is who you choose. We are so lucky to have Padee in our life. She brings a warm presence back to Two Rivers, and we know you love her as much as we do!

I love hearing this! I’ve loved hearing about Padee over the years and was thrilled to know that a friend of mine, who I worked with in California, knows her! I know she’s good folk, so happy you have her on your team!
